First post!

I'm so excited to make our first adoption blog post that it feels surreal! I've been waiting such a long time to start an adoption blog and have been reading everyone else's for so long that I can't believe that I actually get a turn to do it!

Our homestudy starts tomorrow when our social worker comes at 8:30 in the morning (wow, early!!). The house is almost ready... So I'm too busy getting the house in order to say much right now, but wanted to get my first post out here.

Anyone out there following along yet? ;-)

  1. Hi! I found your blog at Reece's Rainbow, congratulations! Your boy has been in my prayers since I first saw his picture, he is so cute! And your little girl is beautiful too. I will be praying for your family.

  2. Hey! I found you on Reece's Rainbow, where I have been keeping an eye on and praying for Angie. I just wanted to let you know how very happy I am that you are adopting her. She stole my heart, and all of her struggles reminded me so much of a little girl who is very, very special to me. This little one, who was also a former orphan, is now thriving in the love of a family, and I just knew that Angie could do the same. Angie's picture has been on my fridge for nearly a year, and I will continue to pray for her, and for your journey to get her HOME! Congratulations, best wishes, and be assured of my continued prayers.

    Blessings,
    Amanda

  3. Oh my goodness! You guys are in Norman?! Just checking the RR site to see the new families, and the first thing I see on top is YOUR family for those 2 precious babies we have been praying for! AND... you're like a couple of miles from us (maybe even less). I am thrilled beyond belief! Maybe we can get in touch - there are a couple of families in our church (FBC Moore), one which is in U* right now, who have adopted, or are adopting children through RR and we hope in the near future as well. We are def. open towards adopting children with needs like your 2 new babies, so if/when God leads us that way, I am sure we will have a ton of q's for you (doctors in the area, etc) We have a support group also :) Please keep in touch and let me know about your fundraising efforts, I will spread the word and help you in any way we can!

  7. very excited for your adoption journey. Would you mind sharing the name of the blog that helped educate you about taking care of a child with HIV? I had a discussion with my homeschool group at park day today and they need a lot of educating.

  9. Hi. My name is Andrea and I just spent the past 6 months volunteering at "14"... Unfortunately I don't know your little ones but if you have any questions about the orphanage in general, the city, etc. I would be happy to help in any way I can. Feel free to contact me at: ambassadoroflove@live.ca

  10. Hello! I just want you to know how excited I am for you guys. I have several friends adopting through RR. I fell in love with Angie a few months ago. My husband's heart hasn't been softened to adoption yet, and Angie's needs were a bit more than I think we could provide for. However, I passed her picture around trying to help her family find her. I was thrilled beyond words to hear that you have indeed found her. I can't wait to follow your journey.

I am trying to talk my husband into adopting "Sharon" on RR. Hope we can encourage each other on our journeys.
    blessings,
    Kate

  12. Those beautiful little ones are so lucky to be getting two amazing parents, a loving big brother, a fun new aunt & uncle, four wonderful grandparents, plus the rest of our assorted bunch.

We're all so proud and happy for you. And we can't wait to have babies in the family again! As hard as I beg, our grands absolutely refuse to quit growing up on us! ;-)

Much love from Aunt Judy & Uncle Mike

  13. Hi Jenkins Family!

I am so full of joy at this moment. My husband and I have been praying for a home for "Neal" for several months now.

We are eager to adopt ourselves one day, but are too young and poor at this particular moment to do so. Instead we have been praying!

Thank you so much for answering our prayers for this precious child!

    In Christ,
    Dalas
